Queen Jindeok, also known as Queen Jinheung, was the 28th queen of Silla, one of the Three Kingdoms of Korea from 632 to 647 CE. She was the first reigning queen of Silla and the second known female ruler in East Asian history after China's Wu Zetian.

Queen Jindeok was born in 606 as Kim Yongsu, the daughter of King Jinpyeong and Queen Maya. She was a well-educated and talented woman who displayed strong leadership qualities from a young age.

After her father's death, Jindeok's half-brother, Prince Beopheung, inherited the throne. However, he was unable to rule effectively, and the country fell into turmoil. In 632, Jindeok seized the throne from her brother and became Silla's first reigning queen.

As queen, Jindeok was known for her strong leadership, diplomatic skills, and dedication to Buddhism. She implemented many reforms to improve the lives of her subjects, including promoting education, building roads and bridges, and supporting the arts. She also expanded Silla's territory and strengthened its military through alliances with neighboring kingdoms.

Queen Jindeok died in 647 at the age of 42. She was succeeded by her nephew, King Muyeol. Today, she is remembered as one of the most important and influential rulers in Korean history.
